On December 9th ACORN members delegated to the Emergency and Community Services committee in support of the City of Hamilton hiring a consultant to move the city forward in implementing local renoviction policy based on legislation from New Westminster, British Columbia.

People living in an apartment complex in downtown Hamilton say they’re the victims of renoviction. A local developer is paying out residents as it prepares to gut part of the building for new units. While the payouts are tens of thousands of dollars, people say finding comparable prices in the city is very difficult. Phil Perkins reports.
