Healthy Homes: Hamilton ACORN won a review of the city’s property standards bylaws in January 2020. During COVID19, ACORN Hamilton has been fighting for mandatory health and safety measures in apartments to protect tenants during the pandemic.

Hamilton Mountain ACORN fights back against renoviction at 1132 Upper Wellington

On Saturday April 9 Mountain ACORN members living at 1132 Upper Wellington Street held an action to speak out against the landlord's attempts to renovict long term tenants.

Since the fall 2021, the landlord has been harassing tenants with buyouts, N11s and illegal N13s. Out of 13 units there are now 5 households left.

ACORN Hamilton held a news conference in Gage Park to highlight their ongoing push to close the digital divide and make the internet more accessible and affordable for all residents of the city regardless of income.

The group conducted a survey of low-income residents from November 2021 until March 2022, collecting nearly 200 responses.
