Hamilton ACORN demands city bylaw stop displacing tenants!

Posted November 22, 2018

Hamilton, Ontario - On Monday, ACORN leaders packed the City Licensing and By-Law Services office to demand a stop to the practice of displacing low to moderate income tenants over technical zoning violations, in otherwise livable and affordable units.
ACORN member Shawna Chorney faces an eviction from her main floor apartment of 10 years.
Hamilton ACORN is fighting for an overhaul of the city’s property standards to include all health and safety issues and to ensure no tenants are displaced from safe and affordable units.
