35 ACORN members from coast to coast joined for a virtual phone action today to call on the Federal government to continue improving Employment Insurance & the 3 new COVID Support Benefits.
The action was co-hosted by Hamilton & Halifax leaders. East Hamilton leaders Dayna Sparkes & Elizabeth Ellis & Mountain Chair Veronica Gonzalez represented Hamilton & Darryl King leader from North Halifax went through the campaign demands, led the phone action training & shared their own experiences with EI & CERB during COVID19.
ACORN was joined by close ally Anthony Marco, President of Hamilton & District Labour Council who spoke about what EI reform looks like & need for decent work.
Members flooded the phone lines of the Prime Minister Trudeau & Minister Qualtrough offices demanding no worker & family is left behind during the pandemic.
