CKNW: How new Whalley police patrols could impact a proposed safe injection site

This week the city of Surrey announced a team of 16 dedicated law enforcement officers to patrol the areas around the Whalley strip- however 'home base' for those officers will be steps away from a proposed safe injection site. Critics say the placement of the police officers might deter drug users from using that site, which could further increase the number of overdose deaths in the area.
