ACORN is starting a fight to stop Weston gentrification.

The march starts at the site of a proposed high-rise residential condo called "Old Stonehedge" and ends at Weston's only affordable grocer, Greenland Farm Supermarket, whose landlord is now a developer eager to tear it down.

Weston is ripe for development, which isn't necessarily bad. But it is crucial that the development is done in a way that doesn't displace the low-to-moderate income people that make Weston what it is!

ACORN is demanding that the developers of new condos be forced to sign Community Benefit Agreements. This would mandate deep affordability, living wage construction jobs for our youth, public space, and ensure local businesses remain, and that no displacement for Weston residents happens as a result of the developments.

As it stands, City Hall is giving incentives to developers to build unaffordable housing in Weston. This is unacceptable. Together we can stop it.
