Ontario Day of Action – Full Rent Control Mobilization!

Join ACORN members across Ontario to mobilize support for FULL rent control! Full rent control means all buildings, all units and no loopholes. Ontario ACORN is demanding:

1. Rent Control on all buildings, including those built after 2018 

2. Vacancy Control to stop unlimited rent increases on vacant units 

3. Ban Above-Guideline-Increases in rent (AGIs) as they are just a tool for big corporate landlords to bypass rent control 

Help spread awareness on the provincial government's failure to protect affordable housing - JOIN US!

Local offices will be canvassing, flyering, postering, petitioning and dropping letters at PC MPP constituency offices. *training is provided and outreach is done in pairs*

Ottawa - 11AM - Meet at the Subway beside MPP Lisa MacLeod's office 250 Greenbank Rd Unit 11B, Nepean, before starting outreach in the surrounding neighbourhood. 

Toronto - 1:30PM Meet at the North East corner of Brimley Rd and Eglinton Ave East at the NoFrills Parking Lot (2742 Eglinton Ave E, Scarborough, ON M1J 2C6)

Hamilton - 11AM - MPP Skelly Office -  2000 Garth St. Flier drop and speeches followed by outreach in the nearby neighbourhood. 

London - 1PM carpool to St Thomas for postering, flyering and outreach. Contact londonfo@acorncanada.org for carpool details. 

Kitchener -  3PM meet up in the parking lot next to Fairview Mall, just north of the Ion Station at 296 Fairway Rd S, Kitchener, to petition and flyer the neighbourhood

Mississauga - 12PM at MPP Kaleed Rasheed's office at 1420 Burnhamthorpe Rd E before doing outreach nearby
