National ACORN: Meeting to Stop Corporate Landlords
ACORN Canada is holding a national virtual meeting to stop corporate landlords from destroying affordable homes.
ACORN contributed to a series of research reports on the financialization of housing where ACORN members spoke about their experiences living in homes owned by corporate landlords. As a result of this, the Office of Federal Housing Advocate referred the issue to the National Housing Council to set up a review panel on the financialization of purpose-built rental housing.
This is IMPORTANT because the report by the review panel will be sent to the Minister of Housing and Diversity and Inclusion.
ACORN members will go over the campaign to stop corporate landlords, ACORN's demands, and then how to fill out the questionnaire so that we can get as many ACORN members as possible to make a submission!
