ACORN moves into MPP's office to Protest Affordable Housing and Rent Control

Posted March 21, 2017

On Friday March 17th, York West ACORN members staged a mock "move in" at MPP Mario Sergio's office to demand Housing Justice. York West Chairperson Kemba Robinson delivered a signed letter of demands to Member Sergio's staff, outlining the city's dire need for real rent control, and urging the Ontario Liberal Government to provide municipalities with funding for the backlog in social housing repairs.
Kemba Robinson stated that “It is the Ontario Liberal Government’s responsibility to secure housing for all Ontarians. If we cannot afford our own spaces, we will move in to theirs.”
This inspiring action is part of ACORN's  campaign to force the Liberal Government to legislate an end to the housing crisis low-to-moderate income families face in the GTA.
